Minor Details That Have a Major Impact on Kitchen Remodeling

Kitchen remodels are not just all about the significant improvements you need to do. It also involves adding subtle elements or minor details that can enhance the look and functionality of your space.

Continue reading as G.M. Roth Design Remodeling discusses some minor details that add a major impact on your kitchen remodel.

Hardware

It’s important to select hardware that complements each other to provide your kitchen with a distinguishable pattern. While each piece of hardware installed in your kitchen doesn’t look like much on its own, adding enough objects that follow a specific style affects the look of your kitchen. Using contrasting colors, such as white cabinetry and black pulls and brackets, or pairing off-white cabinets with hardware that looks weathered are good examples.

Countertop Maintenance

You should indeed consider the appearance and durability of your countertops, the level of maintenance needed for them should also be a factor when making your choice. Small details like regular oil treatments for butcher block countertops or proper sealing and protection for marble countertops tend to be forgotten when planning the remodel. So before starting your kitchen renovation, consider the required upkeep of your desired countertop material.

Grout Color

Minor details in your kitchen design can also grab the attention of your visitors. Grout color is one of the most overlooked elements in the kitchen as most people tend to appreciate larger details at first glance. However, different grout colors can impact how tiled surfaces look.  As a rule of thumb, choose between two common ways of pairing grout and tile colors. Use contrasting colors or opting for a grout color that is either a few shades darker or lighter than the color of the tiles.
