How We Delight Customers With Kitchen Remodels

Whether you’re in southern New Hampshire or northern Massachusetts, you may have been in one of the many homes G.M. Roth has remodeled over the past three decades. One of the biggest changes we make to homes is when we remodel a kitchen. A kitchen remodel can change the way the whole house feels simply by removing a wall and updating the style.

One of our goals in any remodel is to make sure our customers feel like their wants and needs are heard and met. With our established process, we take away the anxiety and stress that you may fear going into a remodel. Here is just one example of how we helped a couple plan and love their kitchen remodel.

We Listen

Like many customers, this young couple had only a vague idea of what they wanted regarding their new kitchen. They didn’t have a specific style in mind or a layout idea. So we asked questions and came to find out that the important elements they wanted were quite common to what we see when talking to any homeowner about kitchen remodeling:

  • More functional space
  • Current features & look
  • Stay consistent with the home’s character and design
  • Add light

We Present Options

In this case, we took the few ideas and desires the homeowners had and created three different layouts. We didn’t just present them on paper in a single dimension, but used our advanced software so they could see and visualize the space from different angles as if they were actually in the kitchen. Once they found a floor plan they loved, we went to work helping them select cabinets, countertops, hardware and lighting that fit their vision.

This is where kitchen remodeling can get overwhelming for some. Because we’re an experienced remodeling company, G.M. Roth has thousands of kitchens we can show our customers. We also have countless options for each element needed in a kitchen remodel. However, rather than share every option, we take into account the layout selected and the rest of the home’s décor and styling to present options that we think would work best.

In this case, the homeowners loved one of the options we provided. However, when that isn’t the case, we listen to what the owners like and don’t like about the options we’ve shared and show them other stylings. We don’t want a client to be overwhelmed at any point in the process.

Establishing the Timeline

Because we’ve done this many times, we know about how long each step in the process takes. We’ll share the timeline with you before we start demolition. Keep in mind that sometimes the schedule flexes slightly. Some examples include when we’re able to get an inspector sooner than we expected and the timeline moves up a few days; other times, the plumber is delayed and we’re delayed a few days. Whether things progress on schedule or we’re a bit ahead or behind, we will communicate with you regularly. We also communicate with the various team members involved in the process so things continue to progress as expected.

Final Inspection

As we wind down the project, we put together a punch list of things that still need attention. Sometimes this list is very minor and will be taken care of quickly. Other times, we have to wait on a manufacturer to provide a replacement for a damaged drawer front or for a backordered light fixture to arrive. You can rest assured that no matter what we need to finish the job, we’ll back our work with our three-year workmanship warranty along with any manufacturer warranties.
