3 Signs That a Home Remodel Is Due

You might not have lived in your current home long enough but at some point in the future, you may start to feel the need to give one or more rooms a makeover. Perhaps your bathroom’s aesthetic appeal is lacking. Or your kitchen could be so cramped that it’s hard to maneuver while doing meal prep.

Whether it is out of necessity or as a way to improve the look of the space, there are several signs that indicate a home remodeling project is due. Local kitchen and bathroom remodeling contractor G.M. Roth Design Remodeling shares three of them here.

1. There are signs of deterioration. Deterioration can happen in any part of your home, from the kitchen to the bedrooms. Aside from peeling or faded paint, you may notice some of the floorboards, trim and other wood components looking worse for wear. If this is the case, then a remodel is all you need to restore your living spaces to their former glory. It gives you the opportunity to choose better, more durable materials and components to incorporate into your design.

2. You plan to age in place. More and more homeowners want to live independently well into their later years. If you are one of them, then you can design your forever home with some accessibility features. These include grab bars and a curbless shower or walk-in bathtub in your bathroom, outdoor ramps for wheelchair users, and multi-level counters and wider spaces for your kitchen remodeling plans.

3. Your home looks and feels outdated. At some point, the colors and fixtures in your home will make it feel like it’s not current with the times. While this can provide a sense of nostalgia, it’s still good to give your home the update it deserves. If you want to achieve a space that offers timeless appeal, consider including quality fixtures and keeping technology hidden from view.
