Kitchen Color Trends for 2020

Whether you’re planning a major home remodeling project or a kitchen remodel, you want to consider the current color trends. After all, one of the major reasons people remodel is because their house looks or feels dated. Every year, paint manufacturers come out with a color of the year or color palette of the year. Although there are a few outliers, the general trend we see in all selections is that earthy and muted tones are the most popular throughout the home. Here are some colors to consider for your remodel (or just to repaint).

Earth Tones

One of the trends in bathroom remodeling is bringing the outside in, which is why earth tones including Back to Nature, Behr’s “Color of the Year,” are a great option. This color coordinates well with light and dark wood cabinets to complete an earthy look.

Sherwin Williams and Valspar both released color palettes. Valspar’s includes several greens as well as tans. Sherwin William shared its top 45 colors by creating five different palettes. Alive, Heart and Haven all include various earth tones.

Grays

Gray is still popular for any kitchen remodel. When you’re looking for colors that can help your gray cabinets pop or if you’re looking for gray paint to highlight another color, you have many options. The Mantra palette from Sherwin Williams includes many grays and gray-toned pinks. Valspar has a few grays in its palette as well.

Muted Tones

If you’ve only ever dared to have white or off-white walls, you may want to check out some of these colors. A little color can change how a room feels and how you feel in it. One of our favorites is First Light from Benjamin Moore. It’s a versatile color that is reminiscent of the glow on the horizon at dawn. There are many other muted tones in the color palettes of the year from paint manufacturers.
