A water view home on Dover point had excellent contemporary architectural features, but lacked pizzazz. The kitchen was tired and in serious need of an update. The existing space was large, but the clients felt they were not maximizing it properly.
The space allowed for many focal points that all complement one another. A soaring ceiling allowed ample height for the serpentine rail lighting system, casting a beautiful glow over the show-stopping island. Dueling sinks are the center point, allowing two cooks to work facing each other.
The hardwood floor inset with tile creates a durable surface and compliments the wavy granite counter and glass mosaic back splash tile. The island’s end has a shape which when combined with the wood-topped custom table allows seating for twelve.
Gleaming stainless steel is repeated in custom island pilaster columns and appliances, and point-of use refrigeration drawers are integrated into the island. Tall wine cubes and frosted glass are seen in the kitchen proving that this space is both perfect for any gourmand and is an entertainer’s dream.
